Delmer Electric Melting Furnace is a reliable and user-friendly electrical metal melting furnace designed for melting gold, silver, brass, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals for casting, ingots and jewelry applications. It provides precise temperature control, compact design, and safe operation ideal for jewelry workshops, small foundries, and hobbyists.

The Automatic Melting Furnace was designed to be a safe and easy-to use electrical method for melting gold, silver and other non-ferrous metals for casting and ingot-pouring applications. It offers precise control of melting temperatures up to 1120°C (2028 °F) through its user friendly, easily programmable controller with LED display. It comes with special kanthal heating element which gives higher operating temperature range and longer life. The glass wool insulated lid holds in heat and keeps oxygen out for a cleaner melt.

How It Works

An electric melting furnace uses resistance heating where electric current flows through a Kanthal heating coil. The coil heats up and transfers heat to the crucible, melting metal indirectly — which means no direct contact between the heating element and the metal, resulting in cleaner melts.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Designed for melting gold, silver, brass, aluminum & other non-ferrous metals with consistent results.
  • Precise digital temperature control up to ~1200 °C (2110 °F) for accurate melts.
  • LED display & K-type sensor for real-time temperature monitoring.
  • High-quality Kanthal heating element with longer service life.
  • Effective insulation (glass wool lid) keeps heat in and reduces contamination.
  • Compact and portable design (8 kg) ideal for small shops.

Typical Uses

  • Jewellery workshops — melting precious metals before casting
  • Small foundries — low-volume metal melting
  • Metal casting & prototype parts
  • Educational and hobbyist metalworking setups

How To Operate :

  1. Pick an appropriate and safe working space to operate the furnace. Make it certain that the area in which you are working is madeup of incombustible material that won't catch fire in the event of liquid metal spill.
  2. Make sure there is safe distance of atleast 24 inch between the furnace and any combustible material or item that maybe present in the immediate surrounding.
  3. Put the crucible into the furnace chamber and make sure the crucible is touching the thermocouple properly.
  4. Add the material to be melted into the crucible(add Flux if required).
  5. Close the lid properly.
  6. Plug in the furnace into the 220V AC power supply.
  7. Turn on the green coloured ON/OFF button on the furnace (Green coloured light should be lit).
  8. For setting the temperature, Press the square button on the temperature controller, keeping it pressed press the up /down button to adjust it according to your requirement and then release.
  9. When the metal is melt turn off the green button.
  10. Take out the crucible from the furnace with help of a tong.

( NOTE:- Always wear safety glasses, gloves and safety shoes for your safety )

FAQ

What metals can the Delmer Electric Furnace melt?

It is suitable for melting gold, silver, brass, aluminum and other non-ferrous metals safely and consistently.

What is the maximum temperature of this furnace?

The furnace can reach temperatures up to around 1200 °C, which is sufficient for melting gold, silver, brass and similar metals.

How does an electric melting furnace work?

This furnace uses an electrical resistance heating element (Kanthal). When powered, the coil heats and radiates heat to the crucible, melting the metal inside without direct contact.

Is this furnace suitable for jewelry making?

Yes — its precise temperature control and compact size make it ideal for jewelry workshops and small casting operations.

Can this be used at home?

Yes — with proper safety precautions (ventilation and protective gear), this electric melting furnace is suitable for small-scale or hobbyist metal melting.
